BrickOutlook is operated by Fat Dog Labs Pty Ltd (we, us and our).

This policy explains the current version of BrickOutlook. It describes our handling of information; it does not ask you to waive privacy rights or consent to unrelated uses of your information.

Calculator information stays in your browser

The calculators process inputs in your browser. Our application does not send property figures, names, addresses, tax assumptions, notes or checklists to a BrickOutlook database or AI service. There is no BrickOutlook account or cloud-sync service.

Where available, local browser storage holds your draft, saved properties and preferences on this device. The purchase-budget calculator holds a separate draft and has separate import and export controls. First-home navigator selections stay in the open page; no application is submitted. Imported session files are processed locally by the application.

In Saved, Remove from shortlist gives you 30 seconds to Undo. After that, the removed version’s old revisions and linked drafts are cleared while the page remains open, or on your next visit. Unsaved changes and edits made during Undo remain in a separate draft. Independent saved copies and concurrent edits also remain separate. Choose Manage local calculator data → Erase local calculator data to clear all calculator records, drafts, revision history, notes, checklists, the purchase budget and calculator preferences for this website in this browser profile. Current-version calculator tabs reset too; close tabs running an older version before erasing.

Automatic cleanup retains current saved properties, concurrent saved edits and the 30-second Undo window. It removes superseded revision payloads and keeps data-free erasure guards. Up to 12 inactive tab drafts are retained for up to 30 days; open-tab drafts and the latest draft are protected. Browsers without safe cross-tab coordination retain older copies. Export a session for longer-term backup.

Erasure preserves your analytics choice and unrelated browser data. It cannot remove downloaded files, clipboard contents, browser history or shared copies held elsewhere. If the browser prevents cleanup, the site reports that stored copies may remain; use your browser's site-data settings to clear them. Blocking storage may leave information only in memory until the page closes. We cannot retrieve records held only on your device. See saving, removal and erasure options.

Shared links and downloaded files

A share link contains encoded inputs in the part of the URL after #. Encoding is not encryption. Property names and refinance figures are included; address and tax details are optional. Notes and checklist entries are excluded from these links. Anyone who can access the site and obtains the complete link can read the included information.

The URL fragment is not normally sent with the HTTP request to the host, but it remains accessible in your browser and may be copied into browser history, synced browsing records, messages or tools you use. A shared snapshot cannot be revoked or updated in copies someone already holds. Downloads contain the information selected for that export. Only include another person's information if you have authority to use and share it.

Hosting and access information

BrickOutlook is hosted on Cloudflare. Visiting a hosted page sends normal connection information to the hosting infrastructure, which can include your IP address, requested page, browser and device information, timestamps and security or access records. This is separate from the calculator inputs processed locally.

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery and security services. It may process connection information to deliver pages, prevent abuse and maintain the service. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Hosting and associated processing may occur outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations used by the provider. We have not configured Australian-only hosting. BrickOutlook does not require visitors to sign in.

Browser assistants and extensions

In compatible browsers, the site exposes tools that a browser assistant can use to read the current analysis or stage a scenario. BrickOutlook does not automatically call an AI model. If you use an assistant, extension, browser-sync feature or other third-party tool, it may access visible information or tool results under its own permissions and privacy practices. Review those permissions before entering sensitive information.

Information you choose to send us

If you contact us through a working contact channel, we may receive your name, contact details, message, attachments and correspondence history. We use that information to respond, investigate issues, handle complaints, discuss a requested commercial relationship, protect the service and meet legal obligations. Avoid sending identity documents, account credentials or detailed financial records unless specifically needed and requested.

We may disclose relevant correspondence to service providers, professional advisers or authorities where reasonably needed for these purposes or required or authorised by law. We do not claim ownership of your personal information or permission to use it for unrelated marketing.

Optional usage analytics

We use Microsoft Clarity to understand clicks, scrolling, navigation and usability through heatmaps and masked session recordings. Microsoft receives usage and device information, page addresses and connection information. Clarity uses cookies such as _clck and _clsk to connect visits and session activity. Our integration enables analytics storage and denies advertising storage.

We also use Google Analytics to measure visits, traffic sources and website engagement. Google receives usage, browser, device and connection information. Its _ga and _ga_GSSH8H6PRX cookies distinguish visits. We disable Google signals and advertising personalisation in our integration. We do not send calculator inputs as analytics events.

For visitors detected in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, both analytics services load only after Allow analytics is selected. Elsewhere, including Australia, they start automatically unless you have declined or a supported browser privacy signal is enabled. Cloudflare determines the region from the connection; we receive a regional setting without requesting precise device location. If that setting is unavailable, both services stay off.

We apply content masking to the page, including calculator inputs, displayed results, names, addresses and notes. Clarity is disabled on the rental-yield, rental cash-flow and refinance calculators. Other pages opened with query parameters or encoded property-snapshot fragments are also excluded from Clarity. Calculator records and imported files continue to be processed locally; we do not intentionally send their contents to Microsoft.

Google Analytics can measure visits using recognised calculator navigation parameters and restricted campaign labels. Unknown query parameters, invalid values and encoded property-snapshot fragments exclude the page from Google Analytics. We send clean page addresses and only the referring website origin, with accepted campaign labels supplied separately. On ordinary calculator visits we measure basic actions using fixed labels, not entered figures. Opening a shared scenario switches off measurement for the rest of that page session, including after back/forward navigation or a preference change. Campaign labels must not contain personal or property information.

Choose Decline to use the site without either analytics service. You can change your choice using Analytics preferences in the footer. We remember your choice in this browser for up to 180 days when storage is available and respect supported browser privacy signals. Withdrawing permission stops Clarity, disables Google Analytics measurement and removes their first-party cookies; it does not erase data already received by Microsoft or Google. Your saved properties are unaffected.

Google may process analytics information outside Australia. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Microsoft may process analytics information outside Australia, including in the United States. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Clarity retention details. Playback recordings are normally retained for 30 days; certain analytics and marked recordings can be retained for nine months under Microsoft's retention arrangements.

Advertising and external links

There are no active paid placements or referral arrangements. Cloudflare may also provide aggregate performance and traffic measurements through its hosting services. The partnership email remains an unmonitored placeholder. We do not sell calculator information or send it to brokers, banks or agents. Before introducing lead collection or referral sharing, we will describe the actual handling and obtain any consent required by law. External websites have their own privacy practices.

Retention and security

Local data remains subject to your browser settings until you or the browser remove it. Exported files and shared copies remain wherever you or their recipients keep them. Host records follow the provider's retention arrangements; we do not promise a particular deletion period for those records.

For information we receive and hold, we take reasonable safeguards against unauthorised access, use and disclosure. We retain it only as reasonably needed for the purpose received, legal obligations or resolving disputes, then take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it where required. No internet, email or device storage system is risk-free. This does not limit our responsibilities under applicable law.

Access, correction and complaints

You may ask about personal information we hold about you, request access or correction, or raise a privacy complaint using the contact details below. Explain the issue and the outcome you seek; we may need reasonable evidence of identity before disclosing information. We aim to respond within 30 days, or explain if more time is needed. If a request cannot be granted, we will explain why where permitted by law.

Requests about device-only calculator records are handled through your browser or exported files, because we do not hold those records. For host-account information, use the host's privacy channels. If Australian privacy law applies and you remain dissatisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Other rights and complaint avenues available under applicable law remain unaffected.

Policy updates

We update this policy when actual handling changes and display the revision date. Material changes will be explained on the site as appropriate. Updating a policy does not itself authorise a new use of information already collected or replace any consent required by law.
